Richard James Laney is a native of Detroit, Michigan (The Paris of the south east lower peninsula of Michigan). Richard studied at the Center for Creative Studies, College of Arts and Crafts of Detroit. He has been blessed with traveling the world extensively, and draws on his travels for creativity.
